Joaquin Phoenix has been shortlisted for the Best Male Lead for his starring role in the Lynne Ramsay-directed drama “You Were Never Really Here”.

The movie is nominated for the Best Feature award while Ramsay has been shortlisted for the Best Director accolade at the bash, which celebrates the work of independent filmmakers. The awards ceremony takes place on February 23, 2019!

“Inherent Vice” received two Oscar nominations, in the categories: BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY and BEST COSTUMES.

The ceremony will be hosted by actor Neil Patrick Harris and held in Los Angeles (USA), on 22 February. Check out the full list at Variety.com.

Joaquin was nominated for the Golden Globes 2015 for Best Actor – Comedy/Musical for the film “Inherent Vice”. This is his fifth nomination (third consecutive) for the Golden Globes. In 2006, Joaquin won the award for “Walk the Line.”

The Golden Globes happens live on January 11, 2015.

Spike Jonze’s story about a man who falls in love with his operating system has won the Oscar for best original screenplay.

Jonze, who won a Golden Globe in January for the same screenplay, also directed Amy Adams and Rooney Mara in the futuristic film, which received Oscar nominations for best picture, score and production design.

Karen O, lead singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (who grew up in Englewood) collaborated with Jonze on “The Moon Song,” which was also nominated for best original song.

Jonze has been nominated for four Oscars in his career, the first time in 2000, in the best director category, for “Being John Malkovich.”

Unfortunately Joaquin has not won in the category of Best Actor Comedy/Musical. The award went to actor Leonardo DiCaprio, for ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’. ‘Her’ won the award for Best Screenplay and lost for the movie ‘American Hustle’ in the category of best movie comedy/musical.
