Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood is set to score a new film, which is titled The Master.

The film is a drama set in the 1950s and is confirmed to star Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Joaquin Phoenix. It is due to be released sometime in 2013. The film is being directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who also made There Will Be Blood, for which Greenwood also provided the score.

The guitarist has worked extensively in film scores in recent years, writing music for both We Need To Talk About Kevin and Norwegian Wood as well as documentary Bodysong.

Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Paul Thomas Anderson (the acclaimed director of, There Will Be BloodMagnolia and Boogie Nights), this story stars Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote) and Academy Award-nominee Joaquin Phoenix (Walk the Line). Set in America in the years following World War II, a charismatic intellectual (Hoffman) launches a faith-based organization and taps a young drifter (Phoenix) as his right-hand man. But as the faith begins to gain a fervent following, the onetime vagabond finds himself questioning the belief system he has embraced, and his mentor. A truly one-of-a-kind drama, which promises magnetic virtuoso performances, the film marks the fifth collaboration between Anderson and Hoffman, following Hard EightBoogie NightsMagnolia, and Punch Drunk Love.

Reports surfaced yesterday that River Phoenix’s last unfinished film, Dark Blood, was to be completed after 18 years. Sluizer reportedly said he was still in touch with the Phoenix family, and that he planned to ask River’s brother, actor Joaquin Phoenix, to provide the voiceover for River’s character.

This was apparently news to Joaquin Phoenix and family, as the actor’s rep has released the following statement to EW: “Despite George Sluizer’s claim that he has been communicating with River Phoenix’s family in regard to releasing River’s last film, Joaquin Phoenix and his family have not been in communication with the director nor will they participate in any way.”

Sluizer couldn’t be reached for comment.

River Phoenix’s final film Dark Blood will finally be released after 18 years, according to director George Sluizer. Sluizer hid the original Dark Blood footage following Phoenix’s death on Halloween night in 1993, but recently began re-editing the project.

The Dutch filmmaker has said he’ll ask the actor’s brother Joaquin Phoenix to provide voiceover for River’s character. Sluizer told The Hollywood Reporter: “The voices of both brothers are very much alike.”

Dark Tale is the story of a man (Phoenix) who begins an affair with a married woman (Judy Davis) as he awaits the end of the world. Sluizer expects Dark Tale to be released sometime in 2012, although the title may be changed due to rights disputes.

The Tracking Board says Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures, who is currently financing Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master and Spike Jonze’s upcoming political satire, is apparently trying to grab stars from both of those projects for a new one.

After Jonze finishes the film he’s currently doing with Charlie Kaufman, he’s apparently hoping to cast Joaquin Phoenix (and possibly Carey Mulligan and Amy Adams) to do a humorous love story with a narrator.

Production would begin in the middle of next year when all of the above parties having finished their current work.

I made an update in the photoshoots (it was a mess). I packed each shooting session on his own album. They are basically the same photos that we had, but some are in HQ now.
